As I look outside my office window, the sun is shining brightly and I can finally see parents and students as they come and go who have shed the giant North Face coats for simple spring jackets. Spring is definitely in the air! With the change in the season, should also come a change in our attitudes. No longer should we look beat down by the weight of the snow, (despite the fact at times it reached levels of six to eight feet), but instead we should be embracing the rebirth of energy, creative ideas, and the reignited passion that propels us to do all of the activities we have put off for so long—spring cleaning our homes, throwing a new coat of paint on that hallway wall, changing the bedroom décor or simply getting that hair cut you saw online. Now that I think of all that work, maybe it won’t hurt to hibernate just a little longer (smile)…Less I digress….This is the time when we embrace all the beauty that surrounds us whether it is news of our seniors getting into their first choice, students finally seeing the progress they have worked so hard for translated into better grades, or the Osgood School capturing the Basketball Trophy. With the high profile trials in Boston coming to a close and news that the money that was cut from the METCO budget, being restored, yes my friends, I can finally see that Spring is in the Air!
With the finish to this school year quickly approaching, it is time for us to just stop, take a quick inventory and realize that despite all that swirls around us, we will be able to smell the flowers….SOON!
